Linux/OSS
I'm a supporter of 'free software' in general ('free' referring to freedom rather than necessarily price). This is sometimes referred to as 'open source software', although technically the terms don't mean quite the same thing.
This includes widespread use of the free computer operating system Linux (strictly, "GNU/Linux") for my own personal and business uses. Along the way, I've picked up various useful tips and so on, plus I'm on a mission to keep my systems totally RPMified, so you can find an accumulation of some of this knowledge here:
- logsplitter - useful tool that can cleanly split both Squid and Pound logs
- WebHostAPI - useful API in PHP to parse Apache config files with specially-formatted comments to do useful stuff
- Exim - information about using Exim, including installation using RPMs, and spam/virus scanning
- SpamAssassin rules to protect against bogus 'virus warnings'
- Abit KR7A-RAID motherboards - how to use these nice motherboards with Linux
Some old stuff that really isn't relevant any more...
- Some completely obsolete RPM spec files, no longer maintained. I'm now part of the Fedora Project.
- cpan2rpm - old script written by a friend make RPM specs from Perl modules. There are better tools out there these days.
