Intranet development
Not something that can be demonstrated online, unfortunately, but I have developed quite a number of systems encompassing large portions of the electronic business infrastructure for various companies, including a former employer. Sometimes based on my PHPOF object-oriented database access framework, the extensive systems encompass a range of both generic and business-specific facilities, from customer database/contact management and substantial project management capabilities to integrated domain registration/management tools and comprehensive, extensible, complete databases to store all the services provided to customers in a structured format, with complex technical and billing dependency hierarchies..
Off Its Face
Off Its Face is a popular online magazine about clubbing, surfing, mountain biking and more. I developed the database-driven review system for this site which includes allowing different reviewers to login and submit reviews into the system. I've also more recently added an online DJ database with DJ biographies, charts and mixes. There's a large backend system with administration tools driving all this. I'm also working on other sections of this site - coming soon.
Webcams In Norway/Webkameraer i Norge
This site started out as a little project of mine, a single page on my home site a few years ago, but its popularity grew and so it evolved into a whole site. The original version was written in plain HTML, but with a growing number of cameras and associated information, it became unmanageable and was an ideal candidate for conversion to a dynamic, database-driven site. Hence it was rewritten from scratch and launched with its own domain in November 2000. It then took off, receiving over 25,000 hits in the first year and attracted support from leading Norwegian newspapers and companies. In July 2002 it was relaunched with a brand new look and new features including a member login system, and is now receiving over 15,000 unique visits per month. The entire design and programming of the site is by me. The site is completely bi-lingual, with the content abstracted from the site - the Norwegian version is driven from the same code but with a different language module. Based on my PHPOF development framework.
Xpress Radio
Cardiff University's student radio station. Features a complex database-driven backend including three separate scheduling systems which are brought together into a final schedule on-the-fly. News and music interviews which can be submitted live by various teams, RealAudio media, a WAP site and more. I've now relinquished control of this site having left university, but at present the site is pretty much as it was when I left it.
